Docs for sharing!

Hi everybody!
I am really late for my task this week.. I'm sorry, but I was not at home this weekend so it was impossibile for me to do my blogpost!
In class we dealt with citing styles and conventions to respect IPR again, but we have used another brand new tool to work on them: Google Docs! I think this is a very good tool to share docs; I didn't know about it before our lesson! It may be useful for my future thesis or job because we often need to ask advice to someone else (being a peer, a collegue or a professor) while writing a piece of work. I was not here last semester, so I did not use wiki, but the surprising thing of Google Docs is that a lot of people at the same time can modify the same doc. This is wonderful! It would be really useful to write "papiri" too :)
Concerning re-arranging proper references of a book... it was a really boring job! I know the great importance of good citations but, as I said in my old posts, I personally hate to pay too much attention on this kind of formalities... However, it is clear that I should do my best to like it!
See you tomorrow!
cheers :)
Sara

  1. Hi Sara!!
Don't worry for being late, problems can occur, and they do occur, it's almost impossible to be always on time.
About Google.docs, I totally agree with you, I liked this new discover a lot, and you're right, it can be used to write "papiri", too! ; )
You didn't use wiki...well, lucky you! Just kidding, it was another interesting tool to share your work with your peers and your classmates, but it was stressful 'coz if someone was working on a page you couldn't enter...can you imagine? Once I was trying to edit my personal page, but I wasn't able to do it 'coz one of our classmates was doing it...what's worse, she forgot to log out at the end of her work, so I had to call her with my cellphone. Fortunately I have her number!
About linguistic feedback, I have nothing to say. This time I can't find any mistakes! Either your post is perfect or I'm really tired! Hope it's the first one, for the 2 of us!; )
    See you tomorrow! : )

  2. Hi Sara,
don't worry, as Vale said, these things can happen! And as you can see, being late has become a new fashion in the last few days!Sorry, this time it's all my fault! About your post,I completely agree with you and I have to say that you're right when you say that Google.docs will prove useful in writing papiri!! Thanks a lot for the suggestion, I'm going to write a long papiro for a friend of mine in a couple of weeks and Google.docs is definitely the best tool to do it!
You wrote a good post, brief, concise and well structured! Let me point out two things I found out reading it.In the second paragraph you wrote: "In class we dealt with citing styles and conventions to respect IPR again, but we have used another brand new tool to work on them: Google Docs!". Why did you use the past perfect "have used" instead of simply "used"? Think you should use the simple past in the subordinate clause as well.
Later you wrote:"It may be useful for my future thesis or job because we often need to ask advice to someone else". The verb "to ask" when meaning "chiedere qlcs a qlcn", is followed by the direct object and by the preposition "for",so "to ask somebody for st". If you write simply "ask somebody something" the sentence changes completely, meaning "richiedere, esigere, pretendere". Be careful with this verb, it's a bit misleading!
The last thing I wanted to focus on is the construction "to pay attention". You wrote:"..I personally hate to pay too much attention on this kind of formalities..." The right preposition in this case is "to", not "on".
Asytou can see, these are not properly mistakes, just little inattentions! You did a nice job,and I guess you were dead tired after your trip! Did you have fun:-)?
    See you soon,bye!
    Anna
